Client Care FAQs

How long does it take to craft my ring with Kane Jewelry?

We carefully design each piece to perfectly fit the stone's dimensions. The crafting time is typically 7 to 10 business days.

What Metal Did Kane Jewelry Use?

We only use solid metals for our jewelry, never hollow or plated gold. Our standard offerings include 18K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold, 14K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, and platinum. If a customer has special requests, we can also work with 9K or 10K gold. All our partnering gold and platinum foundries hold proper licenses, ensuring that the castings we receive are solid gold or platinum, not hollow or plated. For 14K and 18K white gold, we apply a layer of rhodium plating. Rhodium is a rare and expensive metal, even more valuable than gold. This plating is necessary because white gold has a natural pale yellow hue, and rhodium gives it the bright white finish commonly associated with white gold jewelry. Rest assured that the base metal is always solid gold, and rhodium plating is a standard practice in the jewelry industry to achieve the desired white color.

What is Your Crafting Process Like?

1. Ring Design
We first create a 3D model based on the size of the center diamond and the ring size. The file is then sent to you for confirmation. After that, we carefully select matching side stones and design the entire ring setting to ensure a perfect fit.

2. Metal Casting
Next, we cast the ring using the chosen metal (gold or platinum). For two-tone designs, each part is cast separately.

3. Diamond Setting
We set the side stones first, followed by the center diamond. We ensure that any inscriptions on the diamonds are clearly visible and not obstructed by the setting, making them easy to inspect. For prong-set diamonds, the center diamond is set first, followed by the smaller stones.

4. Plating (if applicable)
For 14K or 18K white gold, we apply rhodium plating to achieve a bright white shine. Rhodium is a rare and expensive metal, even more valuable than gold. This plating ensures durability and a high-gloss finish.

5. Engraving
If you have specific engraving requests, we perform laser engraving at this stage.

6. Polishing and Inspection
Experienced craftsmen polish every corner of the ring using various tools. The ring undergoes at least five inspections to ensure it is brilliant and beautiful.

7. Final Quality Check
We conduct a 17-step final check, verifying the girdle inscription of the main diamond, design details, and the security of each side stone. A video of the ring is then sent to you for confirmation. The ring is only shipped after passing all checks.

How Long Does an Order Take to Be Delivered?

Custom Orders (Ring Setting + Center Diamond): These orders take approximately 14 business days from the time you place your order to delivery. These delivery estimates apply to customers in America and Europe. For other regions, such as the Cayman Islands, there may be an additional delay of 3-5 business days. Once your order is shipped, you will receive an email or message containing the tracking number and tracking information.

Lab Grown Diamond FAQs

Are lab grown diamonds real?

Absolutely! Lab-grown diamonds, like those available at Kane Jewelry, are as genuine as their mined counterparts.

They share identical optical, chemical, thermal, and physical characteristics, with the sole difference being their origin. Lab-grown diamonds are cultivated in regulated laboratory settings that replicate the intense pressure and heat conditions found in the earth's crust, which naturally give rise to mined diamonds.

What is the difference between natural diamond and lab grown diamond?

The singular distinction between a natural diamond and a lab-grown diamond lies in their genesis. Natural diamonds come into existence deep within the Earth's crust, where extreme heat and pressure facilitate their formation, which are later extracted via mining. In contrast, lab-grown diamonds are cultivated in a controlled laboratory environment, which perfectly mimics the conditions of their natural counterparts, thereby eliminating the necessity for mining. Bearing the same chemical, physical, and optical characteristics, the key difference boils down to the fact that while natural diamonds are procured through mining, lab-grown diamonds are not. This elevates lab-grown diamonds as an ethical, environmentally-friendly, and sustainable alternative, available at Kane Jewelry.

Will I get a certification for lab grown diamonds?

Absolutely! Every lab-grown diamond larger than 1 carat offered by Kane Jewelry is meticulously assessed based on the four Cs: cut, clarity, color, and carat weight, and come with a certification from IGI, the foremost authority in lab-grown gemology. IGI is a widely recognized certifier for lab-created diamonds and is utilized by a significant part of the lab-grown diamond market. This fosters a grading consistency across the industry, which in turn provides customers the convenience of comparing lab-grown diamonds and ensuring they receive value for their money.

Are lab grown diamonds ethically sourced?

Lab-grown diamonds, crafted in a meticulously monitored lab environment, offer a revolutionary alternative to traditional mined diamonds. There's no need to unearth them from the earth, providing a more environmentally conscious choice. This method of production not only minimizes environmental degradation but also eliminates the potential for unethical labor conditions and community displacement that can accompany mining practices.
